Melichar Architects designed this new Metra train station in a Victorian style, reminiscent of this small town’s long demolished 1800’s train depot.  A shift from an agrarian to suburban population near the station warranted a new train line.

This renovated station re-established a strong civic identity and further strengthens the historic downtown character in the midst of new, non-descript residential suburban developments.  Careful attention to details and materials ensures this station has become an important community asset.
