Melichar Architects designed this new Metra train station in a Victorian style, reminiscent of this town’s long demolished 1800’s train depot.  A shift from an agrarian to suburban population near the station warranted a new train line. This new facility re-establishes a strong civic identity and further strengthens the historic downtown character in the midst of new, non-descript residential suburban developments.  Careful attention to details and materials ensure this transportation hub is an important community asset.
